January 22, 2018
Dear Pomona City Council,
This letter is on behalf of ASI Student Government's Governmental Affairs Committee (GAC) at
Cal Poly Pomona. As Governmental Affairs, we are tasked with lobbying for the student body.
Specifically, advocating for issues that affect our campus community on a local, state and federal
level.
With this in mind, GAC is putting on a Townhall discussion with the intention of engaging the
student voice on campus. We are invested in listening to our student body to hear their concerns
so that we can address their needs to the best of our capacity.
At this event, we want to have civically-engaged clubs, groups and individuals that represent the
student voice and are politically-inclined to be in attendance in order to help create a more
informed discussion and connected community.
We would like to cordially invite the Pomona City Council to attend GAC's Townhall meeting
event being held on February 7, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cal Poly Pomona, Bronco
Student Center, Orion A-B, 3801 W. Temple Ave., Pomona, California 91768. We feel very
strongly that you have insight to bring to the table that our campus community can gain from. If
you are interested in attending, please email asisecexternal@cpp.edu to RSVP by January 31,
2018.
We hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
The Governmental Affairs Committee,
